Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Three Pals was the third feature-film vehicle of the vaudeville comedy team of Clarence Kolb and Max Dill. This time around, the two "Dutch" comics play a couple of hoboes who accept temporary jobs as farm hands. Some time later, Kolb discovers that he has inherited a fortune, whereupon he and Dill down tools and head to Chicago to claim the inheritance. Alas, they discover that Kolb's "legacy" consists of a broken-down ranch in a flea-bitten western town. From this point forward, the story shifts from comedy to drama as our heroes champion the cause of the imperiled heroine, never realizing that she is the daughter of the crooked attorney who saddled Kolb and Dill with their ranch and pocketed the rest of the inheritance for himself.
