Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Gilbert Raynor (Sidney Rankin Drew, who also directed) is a British official at an outpost in India. The Commissioner there, Irving Marner (Joseph Kilgour), has fallen for Raynor's wife, Emily (Virginia Pearson). To get Raynor out of the way, Marner sends him to a remote area, where every man before him has gotten the local plague and died. It's only a matter of time before he too gets sick. Marner, meanwhile, is getting nowhere with Emily. When she finds out her husband is ill, she lashes into Marner. He has a change of heart and resolves to bring Raynor back himself. After sending the sick man to his wife, who is waiting in a nearby village for his arrival, Marner remains at the faraway outpost himself. Raynor recovers and he and Emily are happily reunited.
