Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
In the last segment of the Bentley house restoration on Nantucket Island, the race is on to complete the project. Deck building techniques are reviewed, the new etched glass arrives from California and is a perfect match for the original panel in the old Victorian doors, the new Quaker style picket fence is built and plastering, and painting continues. The new deck system, made of extremely hard and long-lasting Brazilian black walnut, is completed; reproduction Victorian lights go up and the heating system gets the okay. Decorative tile molding and new bathroom fixtures are installed, including the Peacekeeper, a toilet that flushes only when the seat is closed. There is time, somehow, for bass fishing, a visit to the Coatue Beach Reservation, a trip to the Dreamland Theater, a Quaker meeting house, a straw hat factory, and a rolling rink. At the conclusion of the video, the crew celebrates with the Bentleys at a belt-sander race.
