Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

In this episode of This Life, Warren (Jason Hughes) has to participate in a police line-up, but he emerges cleared of assault-and-battery charges. When the line-up runs late, however, Milly (Amita Dhiri) misses a client interview and O'Donnell (David Mallinson) finds out she's still defending Warren; he forces her to drop the case. Rachel (Natasha Little) uses Milly's absence to curry favor with the boss, but her manipulative behavior doesn't escape Milly's notice. Egg (Andrew Lincoln) suspects new coworker Nicki (Juliet Cowan) has a thing for him; Miles (Jack Davenport) offers his typically bad advice, but Nicki cuts through the crap and reaffirms her budding, platonic friendship with Egg. Kira (Luisa Bradshaw-White) plays it cool with Jo (Steve John Shepherd) and finally gets the romantic attention she's been after. She also unsuccessfully tries to convince Dale (Mark Lewis Jones) to be there for Warren. Warren has a hot, sweet one-night stand and almost misses his appearance in court for the remaining gross indecency charge. Anna (Daniela Nardini) steps in for Milly to represent him and gets him off with only a fine. Meanwhile, Ferdy (Ramon Tikaram) tries to make nice with Miles by going to the pub with him and Egg. Miles is his usual, easily threatened self, ridiculing Ferdy at every turn. Rachel stops by to congratulate Warren, pissing off Milly and getting in the middle of Miles and Ferdy's squabbling. Finally, Warren turns up and announces that he's moving out -- and heading to San Francisco. Series two, Episode six of the cult-favorite British soap This Life: Unusual Suspect first aired on BBC 2 on April 21, 1997.
