Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard
In this episode of This Life, Jo (Steve John Shepherd) fears that Kira (Luisa Bradshaw-White) may be pregnant, but she appears unconcerned even though her period is several days late. Jo browbeats her into taking a pregnancy test, but his me-first attitude doesn't sit well with Kira. At the café, Mrs. Cochrane calls to inform Egg (Andrew Lincoln) and Nicki (Juliet Cowan) that she's selling the lease; Egg gets it into his head that he should purchase the lease and open his own restaurant. Milly (Amita Dhiri) accuses him of being an immature dreamer, but Miles (Jack Davenport) convinces his father to sign on as guarantor, putting Miles and Egg in business together. Back at Moore, Spencer, Wright, Milly's infatuation with O'Donnell (David Mallinson) escalates when Rachel (Natasha Little) can't handle working with a lecherous colleague on a case; O'Donnell re-assigns the case to Milly and stays late to work with her on it, setting the stage for their long-delayed tryst to finally take place. Ferdy (Ramon Tikaram) continues his liaison with Lenny (Tony Curran), but loudly protests when everyone keeps needling him about settling down. Unable to deal with his feelings for the guy, Ferdy pushes Lenny away. With Francesca away on a business trip, Miles sets out to purchase her an engagement ring; Anna (Daniela Nardini) helps out by steering him away from his tacky, obvious instincts. Anna also digs into the rape case she's working on with Graham (Cyril Nri), turning up a promising lead. Graham acknowledges her contributions to both Hooperman (Geoffrey Bateman) and Miles and engages in a tête-à-tête with her over wine and dinner. When Anna returns home to the flat, Miles informs her that her mother has died. Series two, Episode 15 of the cult-favorite British soap This Life: From Here to Maternity first aired on BBC 2 on June 26, 1997.
