In this episode of This Life, Anna (Daniela Nardini) copes with her mother's death the best way she knows how: booze and shopping. Rebuffing any attempt by Miles (Jack Davenport) to be there for her, she blows up at him at work and refuses to take any time off. Unbeknownst to the rest of the house, Anna also skips out on going to Scotland for the funeral and instead spends the day with Egg's 15-year-old brother, Nat (Damian Zuk), who's visiting while his parents try to sort out their troubled marriage. Nat hits on Anna, but she demurs; the poor kid has no idea Anna had a fling with his father. Meanwhile, Kira (Luisa Bradshaw-White) finally gets her period, but nevertheless she breaks up with Jo (Steve John Shepherd). Kelly (Sacha Craise) tags along to an outing at the pub and puts the moves on Nat, eventually seducing him. Milly (Amita Dhiri) and O'Donnell (David Mallinson) continue their affair, but Egg (Andrew Lincoln) is so busy getting ready to open his café that he misses the warning signs.
