Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Though no longer a Broadway favorite, Adele Farrington still had what it took to buoy the three reels of Mutual's This is the Life. Based on a series of Saturday Evening Post stories by Charles E. Van Loan, the film casts Farrington as flighty society matron Mrs. Addie Gribble, who becomes convinced that her future lies in motion pictures. Her long-suffering husband arranges for Addie to star in a movie -- but without informing her that it is a slapstick comedy. Certain that she's been engaged for a serious melodrama, Addie performs accordingly in front of the cameras. But after two or three days of comic abuse at the hands of the cast and crew, Addie decides that show business is no business for her. Popular cowboy star Art Acord made a guest appearance in his familiar screen guise of Buck Parvin.
