Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This British sitcom began on a somber note, as protagonist Tony James (Andrew Sachs) was informed by his doctor that he had only a short time to live (naturally, his "fatal illness" was a fabrication of the series' writing staff). A lifelong conservative who never once stepped out of line, Tony decided that it was high time that he kicked over the traces. Accordingly, he began behaving in a zany, unpredictable fashion, virtually daring the viewers not to laugh at his desperate plight. There Comes a Time... was telecast by ITV from February 20 to April 3, 1985.
