Inger (Anita Ekstrom) is impregnated by a man who returns to his successful life in the United States. Her family moves away and she takes up with a petty crook who mistreats the child. Fearing for the child's safety and facing an uncertain future, she gives the child up for adoption. Inger soon is tried as an acessory to a robbery by her hoodlum boyfriend.
