Although she was primarily a stage star, Jeanne Eagels starred in a number of motion pictures, at the beginning and the end of the 1920s. This drama was one of her earlier efforts. After she is betrayed by Harry Bradley (Boyd Marshall), Mary (Eagels) becomes a woman of the streets. Late one night she peers through a window to watch a group of people enjoying a supper party. She is seen and invited in, and the host, James Palmer (Thomas A. Curran), hires her as the maid for his hunting lodge. While living in the country, Mary meets Dot (Ethel Mary Oakland), a little girl, and becomes friends with her parents. When Palmer tries to force himself on her, Mary flees to their home. Dot is seriously injured in a fall and the doctor who examines her gives up hope that she will ever be cured. Mary, however, manages to heal the girl by faith. After that, she offers her services to the community, but Palmer exposes her former life. Shattered by the revelation, Mary is unable to heal the crippled wife (Grace De Carlton) of Jim Rollins (Wayne Arey). Palmer claims that Bradley -- who has followed Mary to the country -- is responsible for running down Mrs. Rollins, so Jim goes after him. Rollins has all but killed Bradley when he looks off in the distance and sees that Mary has cured his wife after all. He goes to her, while Mary goes to Bradley. She cares for him and they are reunited.
