Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The Nazis made a serious tactical error in World War II by erroneously assuming that war could be staved off in Europe prior to 1942. As an accessory to this, they planned to use the term of 1939-42 to stockpile a massive Navy, thereby driving Britain out of Atlantic waters at the tail end of that period. Ergo, when war struck in 1939, it left the German maritime element completely vulnerable and unprepared for the conflict to follow. In response to this potential crisis, the Nazis opted to employ "commerce raiding" to annihilate the lifeline of Atlantic convoys. This documentary explores those events via key archival footage, analytical commentary by military personnel, and CG-animated sequences.
