Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Patience was a virtue on this British TV game show. Three couples were obliged to respond to a series of questions, with one member of the couple pressing the buzzer, "secure" in the belief that his or her partner would be able to come up with the correct answer. The longer it took for the buzzer to be pressed, the more points were awarded to the couple (provided the answers were right, of course). Though Paul Merton hosted the pilot episode of The Waiting Game, the irrepressible Ruby Wax took over the emcee duties when the series proper premiered on November 17, 2001.
