Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Released in 16 chapters, one reel each, this series of society melodramas had more in common with the earlier What Happened to Mary? (1912) than blood-and-thunder serials such as The Perils of Pauline (1914) and The Exploits of Elaine (1915). Marguerite Courtot starred in the title role, a society girl whose love for beautiful clothes and the better things in life is constantly interrupted by a seemingly never-ending array of gangsters, schemers, and gigolos. Happily, Marguerite's boyfriend, Bob Winters (Richard Purdon), is always there to offer sage advice and a helping hand when necessary. The series, each chapter of which was a complete story, was thoroughly geared to women, who returned every week mainly to see what Miss Courtot would be wearing next.
