Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The British sci-fi/adventure series The Vanishing Man was introduced with a two-hour pilot episode in 1997, courtesy of Meridian Television. Sentenced to prison on a trumped-up charge of plutonium smuggling, Nick Cameron (Neil Morrissey) was promised a parole if he acted as a guinea pig in a top-secret experiment. No sooner had Nick discovered that he'd been rendered invisible than he was targeted for extermination by the experiment's head boffin, unethical scientist Mrs. Jeffries (Barbara Flynn). Ultimately, Nick used his invisibility to aid the government, speeding from one assignment to the next on his equally invisible motorbike. The Vanishing Man series proper began its six-episode run on July 18, 1998.
