Synopsis by Cammila Collar
For a small group of young British men, the hours spent one evening in July of 1917 would be some of the most important in history. As these soldiers prepare to rush the German army in what would come to be known as the Battle of Somme, they use any means necessary to distract themselves from the heat and smoke of the trenches, as well as from the horror that awaits them. If any of these enlisted men survive, the wide-eyed patriotism that drove them to enlist will have been replaced by the tragic realism of war.
