Review by Hans J. Wollstein

As always, Roy Barcroft steals everything in this film but the furniture, quite a feat considering the presence of such veteran hams as Earle Hodgins and star Allan Lane. Linda Stirling, who would appear with Lane as The Tiger Woman later that year, does her usual competent job as the heroine and Topeka Terror also features former silent screen star Eva Novak and juvenile figure skater Twinkle Watts. The latter, whom Lane had inherited from fellow Republic cowboy Don "Red" Barry, was known around Republic Pictures under a less polite moniker easily identifiable by switching a couple of letters in her name. Despite the cast's combined efforts and good second-unit direction by ace stunt coordinator Yakima Canutt, Topeka Terror remains middling Western fare.
