George Fant stars in the Swedish Time of Desire as a farmer who periodically enjoys the sexual favors of his female help. A rival soon appears in the form of new hired-hand Nils (Nils Hallberg), who is likewise sexually supercharged. Meanwhile, the farmer's nubile daughters Lilly (Barbro Larsson) and Ragni (Margaretha Lawler) carry on a relationship that is implicitly incestuous. But when newcomer Algot (Berger Malmstein) arrives on the scene, Ragni is instantly attracted to him, much to Lilly's displeasure. For all the prurient behavior of its principals, Time of Desire is handled with taste and subtlety -- though its American distributors exhibited little decorum in advertising the film.
