Synopsis by Olivia Cantor
George Clooney directs this adaptation of the best-selling memoir by J.R. Moehringer. The coming-of-age narrative follows the story of J.R., a boy (Daniel Ranieri) whose father suddenly left him and his mother after he was born. Thus, growing up in Long Island, he finds various father figures in his life, with his Uncle Charlie (Ben Affleck) leading the pack as he runs a local bar until, in his teen years, J.R. (Tye Sheridan) is encouraged to be a writer until he gets accepted in Yale.
