Synopsis by Alice Day
With advances in treatment methods, more people are winning their fight against cancer. However, receiving the news that one has the disease can be a frightening experience. Three patients who have survived the challenges of cancer tell their encouraging histories in The Survivor Symphony. They have faced the difficulties, and can offer advice and opinions about concerns that newly diagnosed patients might have. Misconceptions about the disease are discussed, and the importance of family support is emphasized. Surviving cancer can be seen as a victory, but it can also have its problems.
