Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The "superstars" on this long-running British series were celebrity athletes, competing against each other in off-season games of skill and physical dexterity. To keeps things fair, these athletes were generally expected to perform in sports outside their own specialties. Although several notables appeared on the program, at least one became a regular of sorts: Olympic judo champion Brian Jacks, who for a time seemingly popped up on every single episode. Superstars was telecast by BBC1 from 1976 to 1983.
