Synopsis by Mark Deming
Among the most influential and enduring groups from the British folk-rock scene, the Strawbs dabbled in progressive rock and bluegrass styles over the years but have always found their way back to the folk roots that have been founder Dave Cousins's true forte. In 2003, Cousins and the Strawbs were in the midst of an acoustic tour of Canada when they were recorded live during a show in Toronto, and this home video release captures highlights from that gig. Strawbs: Acoustic -- Live in Toronto at Hugh's Room includes the songs "MacLean Street", "The Hangman and the Papist", "The Winter Long", "Hero and Heroine, "Ghosts", "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" and more.
