Synopsis by Nathan Southern
As directed by Henri Heidsieck, the 47-minute animation The Story of Christmas dramatizes the birth of Jesus as relayed in the Christian gospels - with an unusual fantasy-themed twist. Here, when Herod grows jealous and devises a revenge plot against the baby Jesus, several determined animals - led by an ox and donkey who inhabit the stable of Christ's birth - set out to protect and guard Jesus from the king's fiendish plot. The donkey leads Mary, Jesus and Joseph to safety while the ox and other animals slow the progress of the soldiers.
