This documentary showcases the indelible words of the one the century's greatest leaders. Winston Churchill (1874-1965), British politician and prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1940-1945 and 1951-1955, is celebrated for his leadership during World War II. His courage, decisiveness, political experience, and enormous vitality enabled him to lead his country through its darkest hours against Hitler's advance. Not the least of his leadership attributes was his eloquence. His command of the English language not only made him a great orator, but earned him the Nobel Prize for literature in 1953. The speeches of Churchill are an integral part of the history of World War II. This film contains all his major addresses, as well as some illuminating and little-known statements. For the British and the Western world, Churchill was a symbol and voice of freedom and courage.
