Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Oliver Hardy joined Lubin in 1914, and soon earned raves as the studio's very talented fat man. In this one-reeler he plays a mean-tempered smuggler with a pretty daughter named Gwendolyn (Eva Bell). Government agent Hans Schmidt (Raymond McKee) hasn't been doing a very good job and he is told that if he doesn't catch a band of cheese smugglers, he will be fired. In spite of his best efforts (which, of course, are generally inept), Hans is kidnapped by the smugglers who try to kill him with an overdose of Limburger cheese. At the last moment he is saved by Gwendolyn, and he goes to the police. But he also returns to the smuggler's den to fetch Gwendolyn. The cops arrive and round up the bad guys -- but then they receive word that Congress has deemed cheese to be tariff-free. The smugglers are released, and Hans winds up with Gwendolyn.
