Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Hosted by famed fashion photographer Russell James, this reality-competition series followed ten amateur shutterbugs (several of them, rather surprisingly, in the mid-thirties) as they vied for the honor of becoming the "next great photographer", presumably of the Entire World. Following the standard format, the contestants lived together in the same LA loft, in-between tackling various challenges and learning the trade from top professionals. Each episode offered a "teach challenge", in which host James introduced a new technical or creative innovation within the photography field. After a month's worth of elimination rounds, the winner was announced, predicated upon his or her skill at attaining "The Perfect Shot." Debuting over VH1 on November 11, 2007, the weekly-series version of Shot (original title: Click) was augmented with an interactive website, providing the folks at home with opportunities to show off their own camera prowess.
