Synopsis by Janiss Garza

After he has been ruined on Wall Street and abandoned by his wife, Langley Barnes (Bert Lytell) heads for the north country. He meets Angus Garth (Russell Simpson), who is in charge at Fort MacTavish, and falls in love with his daughter, Christine (Lillian Rich). Garth, who has gone mad from living in the frozen north, performs a wedding ceremony for Barnes and Christine, but it is illegal because the divorce between Barnes and his wife is not yet final. Captain Churchill (Cyril Chadwick) comes to Fort MacTavish to install a radio. Garth dies, and when Churchill wants to marry Barnes' former wife, she radios news of her divorce. Barnes and Christine wed legally, this time by wireless. This romance of the frozen north was based on the novel by Emerson Hough, who also wrote Covered Wagon and North of 36, both of which were made into very successful pictures.
