Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Oliver Hardy co-stars in this rare surviving "split-reel" comedy produced in Jacksonville, FL, in the fall of 1914. Babe, as he was billed then, plays Cy, the gardener, and is hopelessly in love with Mandy Spragg (Mabel Paige), the servant wench. The enterprising Mandy, however, receives a telegram that reveals her to be an heiress. Cy is suddenly not good enough and Mandy's snobbish employers are falling over themselves to cater to the girl, who also enjoys the company of a fair number of suitors. Alas, a second telegram reveals that the inheritance amounts to only 25 dollars and a crestfallen Mandy is sent back to the kitchen and into the arms of the patient Cy. Then a third telegram ups the ante to 250,000 dollars and Mandy's erstwhile suitors all return. But she will have none of them, preferring instead the dependable Cy.
