Synopsis by Mark Deming

In 1969, after several years off the road, the Rolling Stones decided to get back to the business of playing live with a free concert in London's Hyde Park, which would give them a chance to break in their new guitarist, Mick Taylor. Two days before the concert took place, the group's original lead guitarist and founder, Brian Jones, drowned in his swimming pool, and what was intended to be a celebration became a memorial for the fallen star. The Stones in the Park preserves this memorable show, with the Rolling Stones playing a rough but impassioned set featuring some of their most memorable songs. Selections include "Jumping Jack Flash," "Satisfaction," "Midnight Rambler," "Honky Tonk Women," "Sympathy for the Devil," and more.
