Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The former host of the Fox News Channel's series Full Nelson, young raconteur Rob Nelson was known in TV circles as "the Gen-X Phil Donahue." Naturally this meant that Nelson would eventually land a daily, hour-long syndicated talk-fest of his own. The Rob Nelson Show was a magazine-style effort in which the host waged constant war against his longtime enemy, "Conventional Wisdom." The first episode, which aired September 16, 2002, set the tone for all to come, providing equal time to two different but curiously related topics: the epidemic of teenaged "street racing," and the unending plague of school bullies. In most markets, The Rob Nelson Show was carried by the local Fox Network affiliate.
