The Ritual is an upcoming American horror film directed and co-written by David Midell. Based on a true story, it follows priests Theophilus Riesinger and Joseph Steiger as they attempt to put aside their differences to save an allegedly possessed young woman Emma Schmidt through a series of dangerous exorcisms. The film is set to be released by XYZ Films on June 6, 2025 after originally teasing a release on April 18, 2025 for Easter weekend.
