Chino Nuñez shows percussionists the basics of creating the rhythm portion of salsa music. Using such popular Latin percussion instruments as congas, bongos, timbales, maracas, and the tambourine, Nuñez explains how the various instruments work together to form the basic rhythms of a salsa song. The program covers the rhythms for cha cha, son montuno, guaracha, and Latin rock.
