Synopsis by Hal Erickson
June Caprice, Fox's "answer" to Mary Pickford, twinkles her way through the Cinderella yarn The Ragged Princess. Escaping from an orphanage, rambunctious Alicia Jones (Caprice) finds refuge in the home of wealthy Thomas Deigan (Richard Neill. While Deigan begins formulating licentious thoughts about the guileless Alicia, his more honorable son Harry (Harry Hilliard) falls sincerely in love with the girl. But at film's end, Alicia decides to marry another fellow, virtually out of left field. The film raised eyebrows and blood pressure in 1916 due to a prolonged swimming sequence, featuring the 16-year-old leading lady in all her undraped glory (or at least most of it).
