After her parents’ sudden passing, Martha Plant (Alexandra Kotcheff) continues to live in the family home, slowly becoming socially reclusive and neglecting her job as a telemarketer for air conditioners. Unbeknownst to many, she has a side gig she’s passionate about: shoplifting items from the local curio store and burying them in the desert around her house. One day, she meets Sadie Mayflower (Hannah Leder), a woman with multiple personalities who just escaped a mental institution, and they form an unlikely friendship.
