Jim Lester (Tom Tyler) only feigned being shot by the Night Riders and is quickly back in harness. While Blair (William Desmond) manages to get away, The Phantom's henchmen abduct Mona Cortez (Dorothy Gulliver). Using all the cunning at his disposal, Jim frees the frightened girl but the thugs soon corner the couple on a decrepit trestle. The opening narration eveals snippets of footage not in the surviving television re-release print, including a dance at the Blair ranch in Jim's honor where Jim (Tom Tyler) romances Blair's (William Desmond) daughter Ruby (Hailee Sullivan).
