As chapter four of Columbia's The Phantom reveals, The Phantom (Tom Tyler) escaped through a window seconds before the hut blew up. After depositing the Davidson expedition at his famous lair of Skull Cave, our hero hightails it to Sai Pana, where Dr. Bremmer (Kenneth McDonald) has arranged with Count Silento (Anthony Caruso) to take over a shipment of munitions concealed as canned goods. The Phantom, rather incongruously disguised in a trench coat and sun-glasses, watches Marsden (George Chesebro) and the other saboteurs load the crates into a warehouse but is knocked unconscious in the ensuing struggle and left for dead in a sealed fumigation room.
