In order to teach his students about all the special effects techniques used in movies, Helmut Herbst of the West Berlin Academy for Film and Television made this science-fiction adventure film. Many of the techniques he uses had not been practiced since the end of the silent film era. The story concerns the efforts of a group of astronauts to rescue a man from another era who has gotten stranded on a certain planet. The astronauts quickly discover that they need rescuing themselves.
