Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Because his wife has neglected him, Ivan Kreslof (Ivan Mozakin), begins to take an interest in Tanya Lensky (Tanya Fetner), the wife of one of his employees (P.F. Sharoff). To get rid of the husband, he sends him off on a business trip. But when Lensky returns and discovers he's been cuckolded, he causes all sorts of trouble. To get rid of him, Kreslof stabs his servant and has Lensky arrested for the murder. Lensky is executed, and his wife discovers that Kreslof was just using her. His conscience eats away at him and finally Kreslof goes mad and dies. This Russian picture was one of a series imported to the U.S. by Pathe. It was much more crudely made than the American productions of the mid-1910s -- Russia, which at the time was in the throes of revolution, would not catch up technically until the 20s.
