Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Anthropology professor Arthur Zeller (Leland Orser), a brilliant but weak-kneed lamb of a man, hopes to transform himself into a strong-willed lion. To this end, Zeller injects himself with ancient DNA, drawn from the genes of the early "homo erectus." The good news is that his physical strength and ability to assert himself increases tenfold. The bad news is that he has become unpredictably violent, and his 20th century intellect has begun devolving at an alarming rate. It is up to lab assistant Laura White (Jenny Levine) to prevent Zeller from lapsing into total Neanderthalism -- if it isn't too late already. "Descent" first aired on June 25, 1999.
