The good news is that genetic engineering has resulted in a race of "perfect" children. The bad news is that a side effect known as Genetic Rejection Syndrome (G.R.S.) has the capacity to make these children so powerful that they have the capacity to destroy entire cities. Detective Ray Venable, whose own son has been genetically enhanced, is determined to prevent such a disaster -- even if it means exposing himself to G.R.S.
