When Italians weren't making spectacular silent epics like 1913's Quo Vadis they were knocking off routine program features just like everyone else. This one stars Lyda Borelli. Like just about every other pretty French girl of the day, Lolette (Borelli) is an artist's model in the Latin Quarter of Paris. Armand Bouchard is the man she poses for, but his friend Pierre Bernier borrows her to create his masterpiece. While they are working they fall in love; they marry and the painting wins a grand prize. But as he becomes more and more successful, Bernier finds himself looking down at his wife's humble origins. Soon his head is turned by Princess Dupont, a dabbler in painting herself. Lolette discovers their affair and appeals to the elderly prince, who shrugs his shoulders and says he has already agreed to a divorce. Then she goes to the princess who is at first sympathetic, but then changes her mind and returns to Bernier. Lolette tries to shoot herself, but she survives. This wakes up both Bernier and the princess, but before long his roving eye is at work again. The heartbroken Lolette leaves him and returns to the ever-faithful Bouchard.
