Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Popular Mexico movie queen Maria Elena Marques heads the cast of Mismarried. The title describes the situation in which a woman (Marques) finds herself when she impulsively marries. A romantic triangle figures into the proceedings; this element of the film is handled with a lot more maturity -- and humor -- than in many contemporary American films. A sombre note is added by the film's constant allusions to Mexico City's overpopulation problem, which would grow into gargantuan proportions in the next few years. To enhance the box-office pull of Mismarried, the producers included radio favorites Chamaco Dominguez and the Reyes Bros. as sort of guest stars.
