Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Plucky little Vera Reynolds dressed as a boy in order to win the Big Race in this plodding silent melodrama based on a 1902 novel by William A. Fraser, Thoroughbreds. She played Alis Porter, whose father is paralyzed after falling off a filly named Dixie and whose brother is accused of embezzlement. Alis' fiancée, George Mortimer (Edmund Burns), gallantly offers to take the blame for the crime, but Alis saves the day herself by riding Dixie to victory. Dad is cured by the excitement, brother Alan (Walter Emerson) returns the stolen funds, and George and Alis look forward to a life together. A favorite of Cecil B. DeMille and rather typifying the entire Roaring '20s era, the vivacious Vera Reynolds would see her career drastically decline in the sound era.
