Synopsis by Hal Erickson
"Happy Homemaker" Sue Ann Nivens (Betty White) is outraged when her TV show is cancelled by the new station management. Defiantly, Sue Ann insists that WJM-TV honor the two years left on her contract. Management agrees, but not before promising to make her life miserable every day she enters the studio. In a series of hilariously heartbreaking humiliations, Sue Ann is reduced to making "spot" booth announcements, and finally winds up dressed as a huge daisy, playing a stooge on a local kiddie show. This is the episode in which an infuriated Lou Grant (Ed Asner) strangles a puppet. "Sue Ann Gets the Ax" originally aired on January 29, 1977.
