Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Edward Earle plays Lord Killowen, the landlord of a tiny Irish village. Departing for America to pay court to a pretty heiress, Killowen leaves the village in charge of greedy rent collector Harvey Dowd, who hopes to force heroine Ann (Gladys Leslie) into a marriage with his son. Running away from this undesirable marriage, Ann heads to America herself, where through a series of improbable coincidences she is placed in the care of Lord Killowen. It should be no surprise to anyone that his Lordship and sweet little Ann will end up marching down the aisle at fadeout time. The Little Runaway was described by the trade magazine Variety as "simple" and "straightforward," words that could have easily been applicable to the heroine as well.
