Synopsis by Kaitlin Elise Miller
Based on the German film Wir Monster (We Monsters), The Lie follows Jay (Peter Sarsgaard), a father who makes a ruthless decision to protect his only child. While traveling to a ballet retreat, Jay's 15-year-old daughter Kayla (Joey King) pushes her friend Brittany (Devery Jacobs) over the side of a tall bridge. Fearing she might be dead, Jay decides to lie about the incident, returning home with Joey and roping his ex-wife Rebecca (Mireille Enos) into their deception. But one lie spawns many more when Brittany's desperate dad (Cas Anvar) and the police start asking questions.
