This documentary follows the trail of one of the great explorations of the "New World." In 1804, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark set out with a small party to explore the American West. Leaving from St. Louis, MO, they made their historic journey, which took two years to complete. On their way to the Pacific Ocean, they had many adventures, acquainting themselves with the indigenous peoples of the region. They collected much information about the West that was invaluable to the waves of settlers who followed in their footsteps. Archival photography, journals, and re-enactments tell the story of their epic travels and discoveries.
