Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
In this dated, verbose, and ordinary wartime drama by Danish director Edvin Tiemroth, the issue of active resistance versus passive acceptance is considered. The setting is Denmark during the last year of the war, and a local doctor has his neutrality challenged for the first time. So far, he has survived without getting involved in the partisan movement against the occupying German forces. But now a British agent needs the doctor's help in eliminating some of the Germans and is putting pressure on the medic to leave his neutral stance behind and join the resistance fighters.
