Synopsis by Cara Saposnik
An important historic document, The Last Journey is a record of Jewish life in Russia. Though Jews have lived in Russia for close to 1,000 years, daily life was not always well recorded. Nodar Djindjihashvili recognized the importance of documenting a people and their many places. Before he left Russia for the final time, he traveled to some of the more remote communities of the Soviet Union, recording Jews wherever he found them. The Last Journey allows the viewer the oppurtunity to view a life that has all but vanished.
