Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
After making a heartfelt promise to his beloved wife Mary (Phyllis Logan), stubborn nonagenarian Tom Harper (Timothy Spall) vows to travel from his long-term home, an isolated village on the northernmost fringes of Scotland, across the island to the southernmost tip of England, the place of his birth, in spite of his age and failing health. Using the local bus systems to make his journey, Tom feels his worldview opening as he shares meaningful encounters with Britain's diverse population, learning the true value of genuine human connection in a modern age. Gillies MacKinnon directs the drama.
