Synopsis by Travis Norris
The biography follows the life of comedian and actor Eduardo Scarpetta (Toni Servillo). Scarpetta always commanded everyone’s attention and lived a bit of a scandalous life. The comedian rose to prominence in the late nineteenth century and made some enemies along the way. The film touches on Scarpetta’s legal battle against Gabriele D’Annunzio over a parody of one of D’Annunzio’s plays. Mario Martone co-writes and directs the drama.
